About
Who makes this
AscentPath is built by a small independent editorial team of admissions researchers and engineers who spent years watching families pay for pre-college programs without any way to tell which ones carry weight. We are not an admissions consultancy, we do not sell essays or applications, and we are not affiliated with any program in the catalogue.
What backs the tiering
Every tier comes from a documented, weighted rubric rather than opinion: selectivity you can evidence, merit selection versus ability to pay, mentorship, inspectable output, reach, and track record. Two reviewers touch each record — one drafts and cites, one signs off. Sector research such as the NACAC State of College Admission reports informs how much weight these activities plausibly carry, and each program record links to the source page it was built from with the date it was last checked. Read the full methodology.
How it is funded
Subscriptions from students and families, and nothing else. No program pays to be listed, re-tiered, promoted or removed, and there are no affiliate commissions on applications or fees. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page before it changes anywhere else. See plans.
What we will not do
- ▪ We do not write essays or applications. The briefing tool prepares you to answer in your own words.
- ▪ We do not submit anything on a student's behalf, and we never ask for program logins.
- ▪ We do not guarantee eligibility, visa outcomes or admission. We summarise public information and show you where it came from so you can confirm it.
Corrections and contact
If you run a program and a record is wrong, or you are a student who found an out-of-date deadline, send it to hello@ascentpath.app. Corrections are re-reviewed and the reviewed date on the record is updated.
